Care at Home
Many people prefer to remain in their own homes if they need care. Indeed it has been Government policy to encourage and enable this to happen. Whatever the reason for needing care there is a myriad of help, care and support available if you know where to turn to get help and make the right decisions to help live safely and independently.
The need for care can arise for different reasons. It might be a permanent need as result of a disability, illness or frailty in old age or it might be just a temporary need to get over an accident or illness. What ever the reason it is important to obtain a professional assessment of your needs. This could include care at home, day care, equipment and alterations to your home or respite care.
The experienced staff team here at Lettershanner can provide the individual person centred service you require.
Preparing for an assessment
Think in advance about things you want to talk about during your assessment.
Draw up a list of tasks you find difficult, if you have good days bad days keep a diary for a few days, noting the activities that sometimes you cannot manage as well as the ones which are always difficult, to help complete a clear understanding of your needs.
Once we put your care in place you will have regular reviews at your/Lettershanner's request to ensure the right care is in place for your needs.
